The 2024 Shanghai Typhoon Collaborative Research Fund is Opening for Research Professionals

The 2024 Shanghai Typhoon Collaborative Research Fund (STCRF) from the Asia-Pacific Typhoon Collaborative Research Center (AP-TCRC) is open to the world. The detailed information on the fund could be found in the International Tropical Cyclone Collaborative Research Guide (Attachment 1). The guide covers both long-term (1 year, could be extended) and short-term (2-3 months) studies. Specific areas include observing, understanding, modeling and predicting tropical cyclones, marine meteorology and related new technologies.

The AP-TCRC is a newly established international joint typhoon research unit located in the Lingang Special Area of Shanghai, China. It is supported by the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee (the Committee) and hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Government of China and the China Meteorological Administration (detailed introduction could be found in https://ap-tcrc.org). We are looking forward to having you join us.

2nd stage (Interviews) March, 2024 1. On-site interview for applicants currently residing in China.
2. Online interviews for applicants currently residing outside of China
3rd stage (Background Check) March, 2024 Confirmation of evidential documents regarding the entries in the application.
Final Announcement April, 2024 Individual notification.

*Note: The deadline will be extended, if a qualified candidate is not found.
